An important day is coming up that honors and celebrates Human Resources (HR) professionals. It’s HR Professionals Day, also known as HR Appreciation Day, on Sept. 26. 

“Because of you, we have high-quality, efficient, and effective programs and services that help and support the employees of King County and their families,” Matt Smith, Director of the Department of Human Resources said. “Because of you, our employees are better able to deliver innovative, essential services to our region. And because of you, King County’s workforce is strengthened by attracting, retaining, and developing diverse and productive employees, by supporting career development and professional growth, fostering safe and inclusive workplaces, and helping employees advance and thrive throughout their careers. Your expertise, commitment, creativity, and hard work make this happen.” 

King County Executive Girmay Zahilay also recognized HR Professionals Day with an Executive Proclamation. “I, Girmay Zahilay, Executive of King County, do hereby proclaim Saturday, September 26 to be HR PROFESSIONALS DAY in King County, and encourage all King County employees and residents to join me in honoring and recognizing all HR professionals in King County and the region for all the critical work they do on a daily basis,” the Executive wrote in the Proclamation. 

On Saturday, Sept. 26, HR Professionals Day, let’s celebrate the HR professionals whose critical work and expertise help all employees learn, develop, and succeed at King County.
