On Oct. 17 at 10:17 a.m., millions of people worldwide will practice how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On during an earthquake as part of the annual ShakeOut drill. That same day, Thursday, Oct. 17, just prior to the drill, we will test KCInform, our employee alert and warning system. Transition Fairs provide connection and opportunity for youth with developmental disabilities
The King County School-to-Work Program provides students with developmental disabilities the resources to plan a bright future after high school. The program is currently planning its 13th annual Transition Resource Fairs: two one-day conferences attended by families, teachers, local agencies, and potential employers intended to help students with developmental disabilities find employment before leaving their high school programs. Use Employee ID/ORCA to ride Monorail beginning Oct. 7
Starting on Monday, Oct. 7, the Seattle Monorail will accept ORCA cards! To board the Monorail, present your ID/ORCA to the cashier to pay your fare. King County employees can hop on the Monorail with no additional out-of-pocket cost. Seattle Center Monorail provides a fast, direct connection between downtown Seattle and Seattle Center traveling 25 feet above street traffic. Open daily, the train departs every 10 minutes. Young attorneys make a difference through Prosecutor’s internship program
The King County’s Prosecuting Attorney’s Office recently mentored and trained a group of nine young, ambitious second-year law students, giving them firsthand experience into the work of a prosecuting attorney. JoJo is a 12 ½ year-old, male, shorthair black cat (A403147). His personality color is GREEN, meaning he is an outgoing and adaptable cat who loves to go with the flow. This handsome boy is very sweet and loves to be around people. He can be the life of the party, especially if food is involved!
