The workstation is ready to go when your new employee arrives
KCIT is excited to announce a new, better, faster and more thorough way to get new employees up and working on Day One. Our new process puts the right tools, systems, and software on the right device(s) so everything is ready to use the moment the new employee arrives.
The new onboarding process includes: Network and PeopleSoft logins, desk phones, laptops, software, applications, email groups, and any other tool needed to start work at King County We’ll even map to your printers!
Hiring managers, here’s what we need from you. At least five business days before your new employee starts, fill out this form completely. (Bookmark it for future use as well.)
Charges may apply in other timing situations, according to below:
- At least five business days’ notice – AND – everything setup by KCIT by new hire start time = no special charges
- At least five business days’ notice – AND – setup is not completed by new hire start time = KCIT pays the department a $250 penalty
- Less than five business days’ notice – AND – everything setup by KCIT by new hire start time = department charged $250 Express Setup Service
- Less than five businesses days’ notice – AND – setup is not completed by new hire start time = no Express Setup Service charges or KCIT penalties assessed
Above assumes standard hardware is requested.
When an employee leaves, there are questions about records retention for email, server and other data. With the new off-boarding process, just fill out the form and KCIT takes it from there. It’s bundled up and retained for two years, accessible to authorized employees. Managers, complete the off-boarding form in advance of your employee’s departure, and that’s it.
Both forms can be found on the Service Center SharePoint page.
