Public Health Call Center employees connect public to programs and peace of mind 

Creating a healthy community is no easy task. It takes dedication, a commitment to serve, and in the case of employees at King County Public Health’s Connect 2 Care, an almost encyclopedic knowledge of current public health services, programs and nationwide concerns. Connect 2 Care is  a call center staffed by 9 people that will respond to about 1,200 calls a week, spending on average four and a half minutes on each call. Construction now underway on a major Duwamish River water quality project 

Crossposted from Clean Water Stories  Our Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station Project team celebrated a major milestone late last week, as local dignitaries gathered to help them break ground on this $262 million project.  When it’s completed in 2022, the new station will keep up to 70 million gallons of stormwater mixed with sewage out of the Duwamish River during heavy rains. Seattle’s World Cup bid gains County support 

The Metropolitan King County Council today gave its unanimous support to the City of Seattle’s bid to be a host city of the 2026 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup. The We Are 1 HIV PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) social marketing campaign, which was spearheaded by Public Health – Seattle & King County, received both a regional and a national award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The multi-media HIV prevention campaign, which took place in King , Pierce, and Snohomish County, received a regional Totem Award from PRSA Puget Sound for its creativity and accomplishment within the public relations industry in the Puget Sound area.
