Sidewalks on 4th Ave S in the vicinity of King County’s worksites in downtown Seattle will close beginning January 3 as part of the Seattle Department of Transportation’s Yesler Bridge Rehabilitation Project:
From Tuesday, January 3 through mid-February, crews will close the sidewalk on the east side of 4th Ave S between S Washington and Jefferson streets. Crews will be widening the bridge footings (beneath the sidewalk) weekdays, and other crews will be installing a large electrical utility vault next to the eastern bridge abutment weeknights. This sidewalk closure is in addition to the sidewalk closure on the west side of 4th Ave S, and will require pedestrians to detour the work area as shown below.
The Yesler Way Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which will improve safety and reliability while preserving the bridge’s historical elements, will continue through fall of 2017. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the project further, please contact YeslerBridge@seattle.gov or 206-684-8684. To learn more about the project, visit the project website..
