Women in Rail inspiring future trades workers

Tenaya Scheinman, former Inquest Program Attorney, sworn in as King County Superior Court judge

Crossposted from the DES Express Tenaya Scheinman, former attorney for the King County Inquest Program in the Department of Executive Services, was sworn in on May 1 as a judge for the King County Superior Court. She has been an attorney for the Inquest Program since 2024, presenting evidence to juries investigating the facts and circumstances of deaths involving law enforcement. Robert E. Gant named King County Juvenile Court Services Director

Executive Zahilay announces leadership transition at Department of Natural Resources and Parks

Crossposted from Field Notes King County Executive Girmay Zahilay today announced that John Taylor, director of the Department of Natural Resources and Parks, has accepted an appointment as the new CEO of the Cascade Water Alliance, a partner organization that contributes to safe, clean, reliable water supply in the Central Puget Sound region. The department completed major projects during Taylor’s tenure, including King County’s largest-ever floodplain restoration project, a unique onsite battery system that provides reliable power to West Point Treatment Plant, and the renewal of the King County Parks Levy. Read more.

KCIT Network Services has heart!

Return to Office is before us and February was National Heart Month. With these two facts in hand, the KCIT Network Services team flexed their “King County Cares” muscles. Realizing that they would all be in the office more frequently and that heart disease is the leading killer among men and women, the network team decided to increase the number of CPR-certified employees on their team.
