Twenty-two employees celebrated at Bridge Fellowship ceremony
The 22 graduates from the 2017-2018 Bridge Fellowship Program were recognized at a ceremony attended by more than 100 colleagues, family, friends, and senior leaders last week at the King Street Center in Seattle. Innovative program sets employees on road to success
The first graduates from an innovative new program that helps employees get a key credential for moving their careers forward were recognized by King County Executive Dow Constantine and Metro General Manager Rob Gannon at a small ceremony this week. Through a partnership between King County Metro, South Seattle College, and the Amalgamated Transit Union 587, a customized curriculum was created that helped frontline employees train for and apply for their Commercial Driver’s License, an essential requirement for advancing to other positions in the County as well as across Washington. “We shouldn’t… Read More
Administrative Professionals are invited to attend a focus group
Since its launch in mid-2015, the Administrative Professionals Program has worked diligently to be successful in meeting the needs of administrative professionals throughout King County government. The Administrative Professionals Advisory Committee has scheduled a second series of focus groups to hear directly from administrative professionals regarding the success of the program and what is needed to improve it. Feedback provided will help the committee learn how to best support administrative professionals at King County. To get involved, register to attend a focus group. Bridge participants use professional skills to address workgroup challenges
The 2017-2018 King County Bridge Fellowship cohort, which started in June, are continuing to explore leadership and development opportunities for themselves and for the organization. Twenty three employees are working through the course, participating in classroom learning, group projects, presentations and career development activities, as well as interviews and site visits to explore the County’s agencies and their priorities. The fellowship is expected to wrap up in November, with a formal graduation and presentation. Resolving conflict together for a common good

Employee survey extended until Friday, Oct. 13
Dear fellow King County employee, To make sure we are hearing from as many employees as possible, the 2017 Employee Survey has been extended by one week and will now close this Friday, October 13. This year’s survey period was one week shorter than last year’s, and while our daily response rates are higher than in 2016, we have not heard from as many total employees as we did last year.
