Kudos! Positive community response received to WTD activities at construction site
Members of the neighborhood at the site of Wastewater Treatment Division’s (WTD’s) construction of the Sunset and Heathfield Pump Station Replacement and Force Main Upgrade project have sent emails to King County to express their appreciation for the amount of communication they’ve received from WTD, and for the safety concerns shown for the residents by the contractor’s workers. KCTV’s video Digital Connection won first place in the “Use of Social Media” category at the Government Programming Awards, an annual national conference held by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA). The county-operated TV station took home three other programming awards including one in the public health category for a piece on King County’s Heroin Task Force. NATOA’s annual government programming awards honors excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies. Metro employee receives lifesaving award
Crossposted from Metro Matters By Hannah Debenedetto / King County DOT intern When an elderly man suffered a heart attack last April outside a Burien Starbucks cafe, Metro’s Marc Anderson knew what to do. Anderson monitored the man’s vital signs as a Starbucks employee provided chest compressions. They continued performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until paramedics from nearby King County Fire District 28 arrived.
