She reached someone in Covington public works, who called me and said they were closed, but they were there first thing on Monday freeing the trapped animal. Public-sector heroes!

Kudos! Palliative Mobile Care Program featured in national news
This project, coordinated by King County’s Health Care for the Homeless Network and UW Medicine’s Harboview Medical Center was recently spotlighted for its life-saving work to provide care to King County’s homeless population. The Palliative Mobile Care Program aims to reduce unnecessary or unwanted end-of-life care and to give homeless people a say in the process. Since January 2014, has served more than 100 seriously ill men and women in the Seattle area, tracking them down at shelters and drop-in clinics, in tents under bridges and parked cars. Kudos! Mobile My Commute Map proves valuable during February snow and ice event!
More than half of the visits to King County Road Services Division’s newly enhanced My Commute Map were made from a mobile device during the snow and ice event in early February. The site provides information about the status of roads in unincorporated King County to the public, the media, and other agencies. It also provides travel alerts and feeds from King County and Washington State Department of Transportation traffic cameras. Kudos to KCSO Marine Rescue, recently highlighted in KIRO 7!
The King County Sheriff’s Office Marine Rescue unit was featured in a KIRO 7 piece for the safe and secure rescue of two boaters stranded in the middle of the Snoqualmie River. A father and son, both wearing life jackets, got gravel into the intake of the boat’s engine, and were caught on a sandbar.
