The 2017 Employee Survey is now underway so please have your say by October 6 on how we can make King County work better for you and your customers. This year, employees in all branches and departments of King County, except the Superior Court, District Court and the Sheriff’s Office, Short Term Temporary employees, interns and employees who started after August 25, 2017, are eligible to take the survey. When you ask someone for their feedback on something, you’d better have a plan for how you are going to act on that feedback. That’s exactly what King County has done with its annual employee survey. What happens to your employee survey once you take it? Turns out, a lot. Many steps are taken to assure your confidentiality is protected, the data is analyzed in a way that points to what’s important to you – not just good or bad – and then we take steps together to act on what we learned. Acting on employee survey in Business Resource Center
Workgroups across King County are using the Action Plan framework to make sure that issues employees raise in the annual employee survey are being addressed. One team in the Department of Executive Services’ Business Resource Center collectively decided to look at how they can affect two key areas identified in the 2015 and 2016 surveys – balancing personal and professional lives and opportunities for growth and development. Kudos! Office of Risk Management Services featured in national magazine for significantly improving employee engagement scores
In 2015, the Office of Risk Management Services scored 66% on the countywide employee engagement survey.
